Bringing the Outdoors In
Nature and the environment around us are currently dominating design trends, with many schemes emulating the “outdoors inside”. Muted and matt color palettes feature heavily, while extensive planting is complemented by the use of delicate patterns.
Choosing the right contract fabrics is essential to making this look work. A floral pattern such as Elvina from our Gardenia collection can create a fantastic statement piece for furniture and can be paired with something more muted for drapery. If a bolder look is preferred, choose a coordinating pattern for your drapery as well.
A Timeless Classic
The iconic Art Deco design style has been a firm favourite of interior designers for over a century, and it’s very easy to see why. The combination of bold geometric shapes and curves make for a radical design statement. Adding rich, metallic colors to the mix creates an opulent feel too.
Achieving this design trend is made very simple by choosing the right fabric. Your eyes are naturally drawn to drapery and seating, so a bold pattern in a rich color like Velvet works wonders. Our Corinthia material from the Lexington collection in Saffron is a fantastic option. Complement the look further with a plain velvet for drapery like our Enchant fabric.
All Things Calm and Comfortable
Using neutral and natural colors is another popular design theme at the moment, however this look can be enhanced further by adding texture. Elkie boucle from Panaz is a fantastic example of this, with fabrics again playing the central role in this design scheme.
Only muted palettes will suffice, and the use of texture really brings the fabrics to life. Greys and Pewters work wonders here, such as our new sheer fabrics for drapery. If you really must add a splash of color, make sure it’s done by adding green foliage to complement the design.
