Our Inherent Fire Retardant Fabric

As a company with a reputation for innovation, we didn’t just want to provide basic fire retardant fabric. For us, everything needs to be fit for purpose and designed with the end user in mind. Adding a flame retardant layer can sometimes make the fabric look, feel, and behave differently — which can make it less appealing and versatile.

To combat this, we developed a range of inherently flame retardant fabric that offers the same excellent levels of protection, but doesn’t alter the feel or look of the material. In fact, almost everything we produce is inherently fire retardant, so you can be confident you’re always receiving the best.

Trevira CS

Comfort and safety, the two most important requirements in contract textiles, were first successfully combined in 1980 with the creation of flame retardant Trevira fibres and yarns. Textiles made from these fibres and yarns carry the trademark Trevira CS and are permanently flame retardant. Unlike fabrics that receive a surface treatment at a later stage, Trevira CS textiles offer long-term safety and security. Trevira CS textiles guarantee tested quality.

They consist of flame retardant fibres and yarns made by Trevira and its partners in the spinning and yarn finishing stages. It goes without saying that Trevira maintains stringent monitoring of the guidelines safeguarding the brand.

Panaz are proud to be the very first textile business in the UK to weave with Trevira CS yarns at the initial outset, and still do to this day.

In addition, we’ve sponsored fire retardancy seminars that included an eminent panel of former firefighters and people involved in the UK’s Grenfell Tower review. We believe in safety.
