Waterproof fabrics
Panaz rigorously tests all their waterproof fabrics, using what is known as the hydrostatic head test, which is the same test method used on waterproof jackets, which involves directing water at pressure onto the fabric. All Panaz waterproof fabric is tested this way (not all fabric manufacturers do this).
How does it work – waterproof fabrics consist of a waterproof membrane that protects the material itself from becoming wet or stained by all liquid, including bodily fluids and perhaps more importantly also protects the fire retardant layer. This not only ensures safety, but also prevents it from being saturated by bacteria.
All of Panaz’ vinyls and fauxs are waterproof (and stain resistant), and we even offer a range of waterproof woven upholstery fabrics and velvets.
Stain resistant fabrics
Panaz’ stain repellent layer protects the cloth from spillages, giving ample time to remove potential staining substances before they can impregnate the cloth. This enhanced level of protection also means that our material is extremely easy to clean.
All our vinyls and faux leathers are stain resistant, most of our wovens are, and we even have some velvet collections with stain resistance.
These technologies can be combined with other performance characteristics, such as our anti-microbial solution Shieldplus.
