Manchester’s new hub for architects and designers, Material Source Studio has opened its doors, featuring a permanent exhibition space from leaders in contract textiles design and manufacturing, Panaz.

Founded on the principle concept of “Beautifully Useful” the Material Source Studio will offer North West architects and designers an opportunity to immerse themselves in products and materials from leading brands, by showcasing permanent, interactive exhibition spaces from Panaz and 34 other built environment brands from the worlds of material and furniture.

The first of its kind in the UK, the 15,000sqft studio is situated in the Grade II listed Hanover Building in NOMA. Set across two levels, it features a wealth of inspirational exhibits and interactive displays from 35 leading brands operating in the commercial interiors and built environment sectors. It also includes an 80-seat theatre, a CPD area, a 300+ book library, 7 meeting spaces, a co-working hub and a podcast studio. Plus, an internal garden and a fully mature, 6-metre tree, spanning both floors.

In line with Panaz’ guiding principles, partnering with Material Source was a natural choice. The Studio’s commitment to products that are not only visually appealing but also serve a real, practical use is consistent with the Panaz design philosophy and established tradition of creating exceptional and innovative performance textiles without compromise on the aesthetic and textural qualities.

For over 35 years, Panaz have been committed to pioneering innovations within the contract textile industry. In bringing key developments to market, including sublimation printing, inherently flame retardant Trevira yarns, Shieldplus antimicrobial technology and the industry’s first 100% recycled base cloth, Panaz have established themselves as Europe’s largest supplier of antimicrobial textiles and an authority on safe and beautiful contract fabrics for all environments.

An ever-evolving space, the Panaz POD at Material Source Studio will be continually refreshed with the latest Panaz products and innovations, with further displays of Panaz fabric featured in-situ on furniture through the venue. The Studio will be the place to get a first look at Panaz’ latest design-led textile collections, with technical performance advantages in antimicrobial, flame retardant and abrasion resistance technology for the contract sector.

The Material Source Studio is an exciting and aspirational space for designers and architects in search of inspiration, and an exhilarating opportunity for Panaz to work with other leaders in the design and manufacturing of design-led products with practical purposes, to create an immersive and collaborative experience for customers and guests.
